Latest News

Well, the season has wound down, and what a busy season it's been, particularly for member training!

The last thing we do now is hold our AGM, complete with tea, coffee and cakes.

After that we can anticipate the start-of-season  dinner next year!

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates over the dark weeks ahead.

AGM Minutes 2016

Please note we are a charity and do not undertake commercial work. All demonstrations and training events undertaken must be for the benefit of the community and promote the aims of the charity.

Community Programmes

Projects

We are a registered Scottish Charity, and our aim is to promote the craft of Drystone walling in our community. We do this by developing partnerships with community organisations. We design and build dry stone features which will enhance the community environment, and provide a showcase for dry stone walling. Project proposals and ideas are welcomed which fit with these aims, and can be put forward to the branch committee at any time.

These are some of our recent branch activities.

We created a Bee Bole in the Glasgow Botanical Gardens - to be maintained by local children, encouraging and stimulating interest in environmental matters.

We built quite a few walls and retaining walls in Kilbarchan.

We helped clear and rebuild some historical sites at Auchindrain Museum near Inveraray.

And of course we built and manned a build at our usual site at Gardening Scotland. This included an interesting laminar flow which demonstarted 'conditioned' water.
